This 9-day trekking journey is crafted for adventurers who want to explore Oman’s most dramatic landscapes and authentic villages. From the terraced farms of Jebel Akhdar to the dizzying cliffs of Jebel Shams, the cultural charm of Misfah, and the hidden valleys of Wadi Mistal, this itinerary blends challenging hikes with cultural immersion. Nights under the stars, encounters with local traditions, and breathtaking panoramas make this the ultimate trekking escape in Oman.

Arrive at Muscat International Airport, where you will be warmly greeted by our representative and privately transferred to your elegant hotel. The golden glow of sunset over the mountains will be your first welcome to Oman.

Trekking at 2,200 m above sea level – Villages, terraces and splendid nature
We will pick you up in the morning at your hotel in Muscat or directly at the airport and depart for Jebel Al Akhdar, the famous "Green Mountain". On arrival, we will start a trekking route through Wadi Bani Habib and the villages of Al Ain, walking among agricultural terraces, pomegranate trees, wildflowers and old stone houses.

Trekking through the Grand Canyon of Arabia – Unique cliffs and geological formations
We will start the day with a hike from Wadi Ghul (700 m a.s.l.), exploring two abandoned villages located inside the wadi. Then we will return to the starting point and drive up to the Jebel Shams plateau (2,000 m), where we will do the famous Balcony Walk, one of the most spectacular routes in Oman. From there, we will enjoy breathtaking views over the Grand Canyon and the ancient village of Sab Bani Khamis.

A full day of trekking to the highest peak in Oman
We will start from the plateau (2,000 m) following the crest of the Grand Canyon, crossing small wadis until we reach the first pass at 2,700 m. From there we will continue to the peak of Jebel Shams (3,000 m), from where you can see incredible panoramic views over Wadi Nakhar, Wadi Sahtan and Wadi Bani Awf. An intense and very rewarding day, with unforgettable views of the Al Hajar massif.

Discovering the essence of traditional Omani life
After breakfast, depart for the charming village of Misfat Al Abriyeen (Misfah), famous for its stone houses and ancient falaj irrigation system. We will enjoy a 3-hour cultural walk, with a visit to Al Hamra and the Bait Al Safa Museum, where we will be able to learn about local traditions. Free afternoon to relax or take a short walk around the surroundings.

Authentic adventure – 5 hours of hiking between mountains and valleys
After breakfast we will start our trekking excursion with camping from Misfah. Donkeys will accompany the group to transport the equipment and food. We will walk through orchards, terraces and wadis until we reach Aqap Al Hamra and finally Burkat Al Sharaf (2,000 m) in the afternoon. Upon arrival, we will set up camp and enjoy the sunset over the Al Hajar massif and Wadi Sahtan.

Crossing the Al Hajar Massif – An unforgettable journey
After breakfast we will continue the walk from Burkat Al Sharaf to Balad Seet, one of the most picturesque and hidden villages in Oman. The 6-hour tour traverses the mountain range offering panoramic views of Al Hamra and Wadi Bani Awf. We will descend gently to Balad Seet (1,000 m), completing the crossing of the Al Hajar mountains.

A perfect end to the adventure
After breakfast, departure to Wadi Mistal, east of Jebel Akhdar. There we will take a hike through the picturesque village of Wukan, with agricultural terraces and spectacular views of the valley. In the afternoon, return to Muscat and transfer to the hotel or airport.
